Let’s (co)save the planet for future generations
For everything in life, a first step is necessary. Caring for the environment starts with small but decisive steps. Pupils of “Branko Miljković” elementary school from Niš showed how important those steps can be, collecting one ton of glass packaging as part of the City&Me recycling campaign. This action is a real example of how to step into the future from a young age, and the children of the “Branko Miljković” Elementary School are a role model for older and future generations.
Why is their action important?
The benefits of this action are many! For the students themselves, as well as for our planet. By participating in the action, the students learned how a responsible attitude towards waste affects the community and the environment. Their efforts are an inspiration to both children and adults, but also an example of how joint action can bring lasting positive changes.
With the successful implementation of the action, the possibility of injury to children, adults, and animals is reduced. Also, by saving the resources needed for the production of new glass packaging, pollution is reduced and waste that would end up in landfills is reduced. In addition, an ecological world of students and employees was also built.
From waste to greenery – seedlings as a permanent value
At the end of this action, new seedlings were planted that will decorate the yard of this school for a long time and grow together with the generations to come. The waste was turned into green areas, an action that brought the children closer together, took them out of the classrooms, separated them from their smartphones, and returned them, at least for a moment, to the natural environment. This symbolically sent a message that every responsible move brings new value, just as every tree planted brings more clean air, oxygen and life.
